About Neil Finn

Neil Mullane Finn, better known simply as Neil Finn, was born on the 27th of May, 1958, in Te Awamutu, New Zealand. Currently, he is the frontman for Crowded House.

During his career, Neil Finn recorded several solo albums that were quite successful. He also assembled musicians for the 7 Worlds Collide projects. The "7 Worlds Collide" projects were founded with the purpose of charity.

Vocals, guitar, ukulele, mandolin, keyboards, bass guitar and drums are just a few of Finn's favorite musical instruments. From the various musical genres, he embraces rock, art rock, New Wave and pop the most.

Along with Tim Finn, Neil's brother, was the co-frontman for Split Enz.

Finn's musical career boost came in the 70s, when he replaced Phil Judd, singer and songwriter in the band mentioned before.

While he was part of the group, Finn composed several hits, such as "One Step Ahead", "History Never Repeats", "I Got You" and "Message to My Girl".

Neil Finn's big boost to the international stage came in the year 1984, after Split Enz disbanded. Along with Paul Hester, Split Enz's final drummer, Finn founded Crowded House in the year 1985.

The release of the single "Don't Dream It's Over", written by Neil, brought Crowded House's success in the year 1987.

In the year 1996, Neil Finn disbanded Crowded House to pursue a solo career. He released, along with his brother, two albums under the name "Finn Brothers".

After Hester's death in 2006, Finn reformed Crowded House, with Matt Sherrod, adding Beck's former drummer. In this lineup, the band released "Time on Earth", their first album in 13 years.

"Dizzy Heights", Finn's third studio album was released in February of 2014.
