"To Build a Home" is a song by the English nu-jazz and electronic band called The Cinematic Orchestra.

It has been included on their studio album number four, titled "Ma Fleur". The title of the album translates to "My Flower", being originally in French. The album was released on the seventh of May, 2005 in the UK and later, on the fifth of June, in the United States. It was produced by Jason Swinscoe and released by two labels, Domino and Ninja Tune.

"To Build a Home" was featured as the main track and single of the "Ma Fleur" album.

Its length if that of six minutes and eleven seconds and has been included as track number one on the CD release in both United Kingdom and the United States. On the vinyl format, it appears on the A-side as the first track. It was first released on the fifth of February 2007 as a single.

Patrick Watson, a vocalist and songwriter from Canada, was featured on "To Build a Home". Thanks to his awesome performance, the single was then used in a large number of movies and TV shows. First, in the year 2008, it was included in an ad by the Chivas Regal. That ad was for the "Live with Chivalry" event.

In a British TV show, "Hollyoaks", it was featured in an episode that same year. Sam O’Brien leaving was signaled by "To Build a Home".

"To Build a Home" was also used in the movies "Trinidad", "Polytechnique" and "The Tree". Soon enough, in 2011, it was featured in other short films. First, in short film "Rapha Continental", then in "This Is Brighton". It was also featured in other TV shows, in episodes for many shows.

We can remember the appearances in "jPod", "Grey’s Anatomy", "Friday Night Lights", "One Tree Hill", "Packed to the Rafters", "Criminal Minds", "Ugly Betty", "Top Gear", "On Thin Ice" and "Suits".

The single was also featured in a 2013 comic broadcast titled "Supersize vs Super Skinny".

Then, it was used in "The Block Sky High", a reality series from Australia and in the TV show "The Big C". In August 2013, it was featured on the trailer of "Homeland", a new series on Showtime. It was also featured in a documentary about food movement, called "Ingredients: Who’s Your Farmer?".

"To Build a Home" by The Cinematic Orchestra is an interesting melancholic song that can now be played on the piano as well, thanks to the piano notes listed on this page.

every other tutorial i've found is somewhat easier and more basic than this one. So i guess I'm asking is this the real, full version, and the other ones are kind of dumbed down or what? Thank you!
