Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy free piano sheet music by Queen

About the song

Among the teenagers of nowadays is pretty hard to find those who still listen Queen, but in the 1970s, Queen was known a successful rock band, having hit songs like Bohemian Rhapsody or Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy.

The song Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy was released in 1976, taking part of the album A Day at the Races.

This song was a success of this band that had been criticized since then. Freddy Mercury, the one who wrote the lyrics, talks about the name of this song, saying:

It’s called 'Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy', and it’s in my ‘ragtime’ mood that I get a chance to do on every album and this time, this is something I’ve come up with this time around.

In another train of thoughts, this song is one of the greatest by the way Mercury composed it: at the begging, you can hear the piano, followed by Mercury's voice.

Further, it begins a combination of drum and bass and afterwards the chorus is played. Another verse is sung, followed by the chorus again, and then Freddie Mercury and Mike Stone bring up a fantastic bridge. Ulterior, Brian May plays a guitar solo in a majestic way.

Behind those lyrics, this song presents the invitation to romance, made by an old-fashioned lover boy. Having a language full of words that belong to the lexical field of love, the song has a romantic message.

This rock-romantic ballad, if I can name it this way, convey the powerful idea that, at night, each one of us needs a lover boy, most likely to be an old-fashioned one. In other words, this melody brings up the advantages of having an old-fashioned lover boy, who will teach you what passion means, by his old patterns and your wish is his command, as the song says.

Nevertheless, this song was listened around the world and most of '70s teenagers were in love with Freddie Mercury's great songs that afterwards inspired magnificent piano sheets as the ones presented on here.

There is enough proof for this song to receive more and more appreciation all around the world, no matter how fast time passes.
