About Puff Daddy

Sean John Combs, better known as Puff Daddy, P. Diddy or Diddy, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, actor, record producer and entrepreneur.

He was born on November 4th 1969 in Harlem and was raised in Mount Vernon, New York. The artist is known for his astonishing career as a rapper.

One big step in Puff Daddy's success was made in 1993 when he founded "Bad Boy Records" and signed rapper Craig Mack, who’s single "Flava In Ya Ear" became the label’s first release.

Soon after that, The Notorious B.I.G. became the label’s main star, after his "Ready to Die" album was released.

In that time, Combs’ nickname was Puff, which he got in his childhood, as he used to "huff and puff" when he got mad.

When he decided to start his path as a solo artist, he did that under the stage name "Puff Daddy".

His debut album was named "No Way Out" and was released in 1997. Puff Daddy's album "No Way Out" was originally titled "Hell up in Harlem" and it has been certified seven times platinum. His debut single, "Can't Nobody Hold Me Down", was a real success and it spent 28 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, as No. 1.

The album includes five tracks: "Can't Nobody Hold Me Down", "I'll Be Missing You", "Been Around the World", "It's All About the Benjamins" and "Victory". These songs had tremendous success and engraved his name as being one of the best rappers in the world.

The song "I’ll be missing you" is a tribute to The Notorious B.I.G., who was murdered in the same year the song was released.

Diddy stage name.

From 2002 to 2009 Combs was the executive producer of the reality TV show "Making the band" which was broadcasted on MTV.

In 2009 Combs formed the musical group "Diddy - Dirty Money", and released the album "Last Train to Paris", in 2010.

As an artist, we can easily say that Sean Combs had a lot of success, and still has. He has won three Grammy Awards and two MTV Video Music Awards. He also won an award for the clothing lines "Sean John" and "Sean by Sean Combs".
