About 3 Doors Down
3 Doors Down is an American alternative rock band originated in Mississippi, having initially three members, Brad Arnold as the vocalist and drummer, Matt Roberts as the guitarist and Todd Harrell as the bassist.
From their trio and the fact that, on a trip to Alabama, they saw a building with a sign that said "Doors Down", they came up with their name.
They played together for a couple of years, since 1996 touring outside Escatawapa and Harrell asked guitarist Chris Henderson to join the band. Recording some original songs in Mississippi, they offered the CD to a local radio, who played a version of a song called "Kryptonite" that got really popular real fast, being most demanded.
We think that this band and other alternative rock bands can offer beautiful sheet music, even if the original songs are not intended strictly for that, so we will try to provide you with many sheets for this popular band.
"Once they got on stage and started playing it was apparent the magic was in the music. So we moved to sign them."
was the response they got from Phin Daly from WCPR-FM after the band played in New York for a club. They later got signed with Republic Records and moved on to release their first album in 2000, entitled "The Better Life".
Featuring hit singles like the famous "Kryptonite", or "Loser" and "Duck and Run", the album was the eleventh best-selling album of 2000, becoming certified six times Platinum and selling in total over 3 million copies.
They released the second album two years after their first, calling it "Away from the Sun".
With drummer Josh Freese recording drums for the album and Alex Lifeson of Rush producing "Dead Love", "Dangerous Game" and "Wasted Me", the album furthered their success, selling over 3 million copies in the United States alone.
Soon after their 2002 album, they released a live EP called "Another 700 Miles", getting certified Gold in the US and their third album, "Seventeen Days" got certified Platinum as well, charting singles such as "Let Me Go" or "Behind Those Eyes".
Their self-titled album came in 2008, reaching Top Ten with singles such as "It’s Not My Time", "Train" or "Citizen/Soldier". We aim to provide you with older, as well as newer sheets from them, to get familiarized with their musical changes.
Their 2011 album, "Time of My Life", was released in 2011, the band touring UK, US and Europe at the time and in 2012 they released a "Greatest Hits" album.
Todd Harrell, the bassist, got replaced with Justin Biltonen and in this newly formed foundation they are preparing a 2014 album.
We hope to see more music from them and until then we invite you to discover the piano sheets that we are going to list for them and learn to play them to perfection.
