About Ramin Djawadi
Ramin Djawadi is the name of a German composer with Iranian origins.
He has been involved in orchestrating music for movies, as well as TV shows and even video games. His greatest works remain "Iron Man", which got a Grammy nomination and "Pacific Rim", as well as the TV series work on "Person of Interest", "Prison Break" and "Game of Thrones". He has been born on the 19th of July, year 1974 in Duisburg, Germany.
He is also a multi-instrumentalist, being a talented piano and guitar player, as well as being knowledgeable of keyboards. His activity started in the year 1990 and has since worked with two labels, Remote Control Productions and WaterTower Music.
In the year 1998 he graduated from the Berklee College of Music with the honorific distinction of summa cum laude. Hans Zimmer noticed him and managed to get him to sign with the label Remote Control Productions. Djawadi moved to Los Angeles in order to work under Klaus Badelt, as his assistant.
His first solo project has been "Blade: Trinity", where he collaborated with The RZA, working alongside David Goyer, the director of the movie. His collaboration with David Goyer lasted, getting Djawadi to score "The Unborn", a horror movie featuring producer Michael Bay. His collaboration with Goyer continued in the television business, when he worked on "FlashForward".
This project got Djawadi another nomination for an Emmy Award, his second of this type. Except "Prison Break", which also got a Emmy nomination, Djawadi also worked on "Breakout Kings", another TV show with the same theme as "Prison Break".
A great hit for Djawadi has been his work for the movie "Mr. Brooks".
This score gained recognition and Djawadi was nominated for "Discovery of the Year" at the World Soundtrack ceremony. Djawadi has also worked on "Deception", which included actors Ewan McGregor, as well as Hugh Jackman. He then worked for the movie "Ask the Dust", created by Robert Towne. "Iron Man" remains his greatest work.
He was fired for a project of Sony called Sony Animation. His work for "Open Season" was the first release of this type.
He was hired for its continuation, "Open Season 2". Another animated movie that he scored is "The Chubbchubbs Save Xmas". He has also worked with Warner Brothers for the movie "Clash of the Titans", finished in the year 2010. In 2010, he was also hired to provide music for the game "Medal of Honor".
